Officine Panerai, committed to the advancement of classic sailing through the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge for years, is the Atlantic Yacht Club’s new partner in organising the Panerai Transat Classique 2012, a regatta that will lead a gorgeous fleet of a dozen antique sailboats across the Atlantic Ocean. The boats will set sail from Cascais, Portugal, the base of the prestigious Clube Naval de Cascais, and travel 4,000 miles to Barbados. They will have the opportunity to collect points for the race’s final ranking via optional participation in two preliminary regattas that will set sail from Douarnenez in Brittany (22 July 2012) and Saint Tropez (25 October 2012), before the entire fleet of the race’s transatlantic participants gathers in Cascais. The victor will be awarded a Special-Edition Officine Panerai Watch (limited to 199 pieces), personalised with the Panerai Transat Classique 2012 logo on the case-back.
