Egyptian Calf Pharao The style of these straps goes back to the model made by Panerai for the Egyptian navy in the 1950s and they are made of a natural leather with a characteristic brown sandy colour acquired through drum dyeing. The leather used for these straps has a pleasantly smooth, semi-matt surface, its natural colour variations being the result of the traditional dyeing method and a conscious avoidance of additional colouring as a top coat. The structure of these straps is reminiscent of one of the very first Panerai watches, two layers of leather being used to form the outer leather and the lining, creating a special “belt-like” look with the untreated leather preserving its natural grain.
