RADIOMIR

The Radiomir is the first watch prototyped in 1936 by Officine Panerai. It was distinguished by the structure of its iconic cushion shape which ensured a particularly high degree of water-resistance through its conical screw-down winding crown and screw back, while the use of Radiomir, a luminous paint based on zinc sulphide, mesothorium and radium bromide, gave the dial maximum visibility even in the hardest conditions. This historic case had thin wire loop strap attachments welded to it.

LUMINOR

The Luminor case, with its unique and timeless design, combines style with functionality. The distinctive feature of this case is the crown-protecting lever device (registered trademark) which shields the winding crown from accidental shocks or handling, while ensuring the water-resistance of the watch also at great depths.

LUMINOR 1950

The Panerai Luminor 1950 case is inspired by the historic Luminor case from the 1950 with its typical rounded middle case lines and lugs milled from a single block of metal and the device protecting the winding crown. Some models are characterized by a more pronounced cusps of the case band  underlining a stage of transformation from the late 1940s classic Radiomir cushion case to that of the Luminor.
