Ceramica
Panerai’s ceramic is made from zirconium oxide powder processed through precision high-temperature sintering. Lighter than steel yet incredibly hard, this material is highly resistant to scratches, corrosion, and heat. The ceramic case is shaped with diamond-tool wheels to achieve the Luminor’s distinctive curves and robust contours, including the iconic crown protecting bridge. GMT Function
The GMT complication with a 12-hour display recalls some of the earliest models developed by Panerai in the early 2000s. Designed for modern explorers, it allows wearers to track multiple time zones with clarity and precision. A subtle nod to Italian heritage is found in the “BiTempo” inscription on the dial — the Italian term for dual time — adding both functionality and character.
P.900/GMT
The automatic P.900/GMT caliber delivers 3 days of power reserve via a bidirectional oscillating weight and single barrel. Measuring only 5.20mm thick, it maintains streamlined proportions while offering high function. Its balance wheel beats at 28,800 vibrations/hour and is fixed by a balance cock. A stop-second function enables precise time setting, and the movement is visible through a smoked sapphire crystal case-back.
Water resistance
Every PAM01783 has been tested underwater. The watch is water-resistant to 30 bar (~300 meters), in line with Panerai’s heritage in professional diving instruments. Each Panerai model undergoes rigorous testing up to a pressure 25% greater than its rated resistance, ensuring consistent performance. This standard guarantees that the watch meets the demands of daily wear and extreme underwater conditions, while maintaining Panerai’s technical expertise.
