The second campaign together
Panerai reaffirmed its commitment as Official Sponsor, partnering with the Luna Rossa team for the second consecutive edition of America’s Cup. A shared journey of values
This collaboration intersects with all the pillars of the Panerai identity, embodying Italian DNA, the Maison’s deep-rooted connection to the marine world, and its commitment to crafting instruments for modern heroes. Watches engineered and tested for the toughest conditions, epitomizing the brand’s dedication to durability, reliability, and functionality.

The beginning
The partnership with Luna Rossa emerged naturally for a brand like Panerai that makes performance and technological innovation its distinctive flags and the Italian-Swiss watch manufacturer became the Official Sponsor of Italian sailing team in 2019. It was during the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada and held in the Hauraki Gulf of Auckland in 2021, that Panerai culminated its nautical ties with the sailing team.

Luna Rossa Sailing Team
The Luna Rossa Sailing Team is a blend of excellence that includes the finest talents of Italian sports. World and Olympic medal-winning sailors, America’s Cup winners and rowing champions, professional cyclists and rugby players, all sailing together onboard the AC75 and united by the same passion and the same goal: to win the America’s Cup and bring it to Italy. For them Panerai has relentlessly developed collections of technical watches, one for each year of preparation in the run-up to the ultimate challenge, either drawing inspiration from the technologies and materials used in the America’s Cup or from the insights and needs of the Luna Rossa team.

Luna Rossa
Since its foundation in 1997, Luna Rossa has written the history of Italian and international sailing. Luna Rossa sealed victories in two editions of the Challenger Selection Series (in 2000 and 2021), winning the right to challenge the Defender of the trophy. In the final match of the 36th America’s Cup – presented by PRADA, Luna Rossa achieved the best result ever for an Italian team. In 2024 the team competed for the sixth time to the world's oldest sporting trophy held for the occasion in Barcelona, Spain.

Panerai and America’s Cup
Panerai’s journey with the America’s Cup, a symbol of nautical excellence and innovation, marks a significant chapter in its storied history. The relationship began in 2017, when Panerai stepped into the sailing sport elite and became the Official Partner of the prestigious sailing competition and the sponsor of the Oracle Team USA and Softbank Team Japan.

America’s Cup
The America’s Cup is the oldest trophy in the history of sport, anticipating the modern Olympics by 45 years. It is a challenge between yacht clubs and represents the ultimate sailing competition, which has always been played on a dual sporting and technological level.
