Marina Militare pulses with Panerai’s legacy as the navy’s trusted supplier. Born from their unrelenting need for survival instruments, Panerai's designs were made for the Navy's bold exploits. Today, this enduring partnership embodies courage and resilience, sparking exceptional adventures. Panerai remains a symbol of bravery, fiercely honoring its historic and privileged bond with the Navy and fortifying it with adrenaline-filled experiences and innovative watch collections.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Established in Florence in 1860 as a workshop, store, and subsequently watchmaking school, Panerai supplied precision instruments to the Italian Navy, particularly its specialized diving units, for many years. Designs like the Luminor and Radiomir were classified under the Military Secrets Act and were only made available internationally after Panerai's acquisition by the Richemont Group in 1997.
EXPERIENCES
Among the Military Experiences designed by Panerai was a riveting two-day program in a restricted military zone at Varignano Fortress, La Spezia. Intense activities across land, sea, and air pushed participants to their physical and mental limits under the supervision of the Italian Special Forces. Further down south in Puglia, a three-day journey with the Brigata Marina San Marco took participants through military workouts and extreme trials that exemplified the vision and values that drive Panerai’s mission in crafting timepieces for Modern Heroes.
