As Luna Rossa sets its course towards the 38th America’s Cup 2027 in Naples, Italy, Panerai presents a new chapter of the partnership through the 500 pieces limited edition Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768. The collaboration has offered a real-world environment for performance-led watchmaking since 2019, bringing together design and technicity, where every complication is expected to serve a precise function. With its tachymeter scale, chronograph display, and new Velcro strap, PAM01768 combines Panerai’s functional language with distinctive references to the team’s visual identity.

Dial, case and tachymeter

A 44mm brushed-steel case paired with a silver sun-brushed dial with rhodium tones sets the stage for Luna Rossa’s red accents. White Super-LumiNova® heightens visibility, while the azurage counters add depth. On the rehaut, the speed tachymeter works with the central chronograph seconds hand to calculate the average speed of the boat over a fixed distance, a crucial function for competitive sailing.

P.9210 calibre

Chronograph with purpose

Panerai's P.9210 automatic chronograph movement features a 3 o'clock minute counter with a jumping hand for precise readings. Its chronograph functions allow for stop, reset, and restart in three steps, controlled by push-buttons. This calibre offers enhanced reliability with efficient automatic winding and elegant decorations, like vertical brushing and blue varnish.

A Luna Rossa first

The new Velcro strap

Introduced for the first time in the Luna Rossa collection, the new Velcro strap adds a more technical, immediate feel to the watch. With its 24/22 taper and elastic construction, it is designed for quick adjustment, ease of wear, and high comfort, particularly in active conditions and water exposure. A second rubber strap is also provided in the box, further enhancing the watch's versatility.

Proven in use

Performance in real conditions

Water-resistant up to 10 bar (~100 meters), PAM01768 is built for sporting use and tested accordingly. At Panerai, each watch undergoes water-pressure testing that exceeds its guaranteed rating by 25%, using systems that measure case deformation and seal integrity under load to validate performance in demanding conditions.
