WORLD OCEANS DAY 2023
This year Panerai is supporting World Oceans Day 2023 and its theme "Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing." With this year's theme, the United Nations and Oceanic Global are driving a message to all - it's time to put the ocean first.
WORLD OCEANS DAY 2023
June 8th has been designated as international World Oceans Day, since 2008. Indispensable to all life forms, the ocean is in increasing peril due to human activity and climate change. In 2023, Panerai joined Oceanic Global to raise awareness on the immediacy of this global problem. Under the 2023 theme Planet Ocean, World Oceans Day aims to generate a new wave of excitement towards protecting the entirety of our blue planet.
PANERAI’S COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
Panerai has teamed up with the NGO Oceanic Global to celebrate World Oceans Day to advocate for ocean preservation and health. By highlighting this cause, Panerai aims to inspire younger generations about the imperative nature of ocean preservation.
In 2023, Panerai continues to amplify its ocean focus by supporting IOC-UNESCO and its Ocean Literacy Project, created to promote a greater global understanding of the ocean. This worldwide education campaign aims to increase awareness of the oceans’ direct influence on our planet. Through a series of lectures, participants learn how to integrate environmental protections in their daily lives. Panerai organizes 20 plastic collection days last year, gathering more than 3 tons of waste.
This June 8th Jean-Marc Pontroué, joined the celebration at the UN Headquarters for World Ocean Day 2023, on the theme “Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing.”
Panerai continues its efforts to promote Sustainable practices, both in its internal operations and through external educational initiatives. This year Panerai will be organizing Plastic collection days to contribute to Ocean clean-up efforts.
