The rare combination of innovation and tradition defies convention, Panerai expands the dimensions of its collection of diving instruments with an offering that combines two innovative materials for the first time: Panerai Goldtech™ and Carbotech™. Though seemingly antithetical, the pairing is surprisingly complementary in the Submersible Goldtech™ - 44 mm (PAM01070).

Once again an exponent of the well tested 44 mm size, the new reference makes its distinctive character apparent through a balance between disciplined elegance and bold athleticism. Its personality is enhanced by a case made from Panerai Goldtech™, a gold alloy with an intense and stable color made possible by its significant copper content and enrichment with platinum. The dial features applied indexes and satiné soleil decoration, an unconventional embellishment in the Submersible collection.

Having first built its reputation on mastery of the specialized diving watch category, Panerai returns to its origins with the development of a new professional instrument: Submersible Azzurro – 42 mm (PAM01209), made in only 500 pieces and available exclusively on the panerai.com ecommerce platform.

Aesthetic and functionality

Developed to merge technical performance and substance with proven knowhow, the new Submersible unifies its aesthetic and functional dimensions by displaying a fitting color on the opaque ceramic disc of the bezel: blue, a hue that instantly evokes the sea. Since the very beginning, water has been the brand’s distinctive element and blue has been Italy’s unofficial national color since its unification, a milestone reached just a few months after the opening of Giovanni Panerai’s first historic Florentine shop.

A timeless icon evolves anew.

In a year strongly focused on the Luminor Marina family, contemporary design pays tribute to a storied past. Panerai chose Watches & Wonders, a haute horology show scheduled from September 9 to 13 in Shanghai, to preview in China a new rendition of its most classic expression: Luminor Marina - 42 mm (PAM01393).

Super-LumiNova™

A figure in history, Luminor Marina - 42 mm revisits a singular and beloved aesthetic that was first established in the 1950s. It was then that Panerai, to meet the growing needs of the Italian Royal Navy, elaborated on the concept of the diving watch, giving life to the Luminor. The model’s name was inspired by a self-luminous substance that had been recently patented by the Florentine brand. Today Super-LumiNova™ serves the same function.

The road to winning the 36th America’s Cup begins with the Prada Cup Challenger Selection Series, scheduled between January and February 2021 in waters off Auckland, New Zealand. Panerai reinforces its role as Official Sponsor of the Luna Rossa Team with the launch of an advanced timepiece that represents artisanal Italian excellence: Luminor Luna Rossa GMT - 42 mm (PAM01096)

Scafotech™

With its rigorous technical and aesthetic specifications, the new Luminor Luna Rossa elevates the already lofty reputation of a revered collection with the addition of a novel material: Scafotech™. The innovative and sustainable composite is made from carbon fiber residue collected from the hull and hydrofoils of the Italian team’s AC75 yacht. It has been recycled and forged into a high-tech polymer for use as the watch dial.

Introducing the Luminor Marina Fibratech™ – 44mm, a Prima Assoluta in watchmaking. Remarkably lightweight and astoundingly tough, Fibratech™ is 70% lighter than steel, 55% lighter than titanium. The launch of this edition signifies a landmark moment in the industry and is a testament to Panerai’s legacy of innovation.

The Embodiment of Robustness

A material previously used in aeronautics, Fibratech™ is a resilient composite of fully recyclable mineral fibres derived from molten volcanic rock and mineral additives. The case is complemented by a blue sandwich dial and the P.9010 3 days automatic calibre, engineered in Neuchâtel.
