Panerai is proud to introduce Alberto Guerra as its newest Friend Of the Brand. The Cuban actor – whose assertive, bold and confident performing style has crystallized his presence in the cinematic industry – embodies the Maison’s DNA and its Luminor collection.

Guerra’s versatile career, spanning across standout roles in Narcos: Mexico, Griselda and The Accident on Netflix, reflects his dedication to excellence and pushing the boundaries of human capability – values closely aligned with Panerai, making him a role model of its kind. As he joins the global team of Friends Of the Brand, Guerra will collaborate on key projects honouring the Maison’s propelling essence, starting with his participation at the 2024 Salón Internacional Alta Relojería México (SIAR).

Known for his dynamic and powerful performances in both Latin American and international productions, Guerra’s passion for storytelling – juggling between movies and tv series blockbusters – parallels Panerai’s commitment to skilled Swiss technicity and Italian design legacy. His journey, much like Panerai’s, is one of dedication to his craft, profound research and a relentless pursuit of innovation. Panerai’s Luminor collection, known for its design timelessness and technical versatility, mirrors Guerra’s drive, talent and ambition.

Guerra himself has expressed his long-held admiration for Panerai’s distinctive designs and rich heritage, making this collaboration a natural fit.

Since 2019, the Maison has sponsored the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team in their nautical endeavors deepening a synergy based on performance, technological innovation and a shared commitment to pushing boundaries, underscoring the Maison’s maritime heritage. This year, in occasion of the 37th America’s Cup, this partnership strengthen further. In the waters of Barcelona, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team battled fiercely, overcoming the Louis Vuitton Cup’s Double Round Robin tournament and Semi-Finals – hold against US NYYC American Magic, French Orient Express, Swiss Alinghi Red Bull Racing and UK Ineos Britannia teams – qualifying for the Finals and ultimately losing against the British racing syndicate. The Italian crew thrilled spectators with their breath-taking performances, a testament to their passionate determination, powerful resilience and unwavering dedication. Panerai supported the challenges of these Modern Heroes by providing technical timekeeping instruments, engineered and tested for the toughest conditions to guarantee durability, reliability and functionality in every step of the competition. The timepieces, part of the latest Submersible Luna Rossa collection, draw inspiration from the technologies and materials used in the America’s Cup and developed according to the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team’s requirements, working hand-in-hand with the crew itself.

Barcelona Boutique Opening

We are excited to open the doors to our newest boutique in Barcelona at Paseo de Gracia 104, enhancing our presence in the Spanish market. The inauguration, taking place on 4th September during the 37th America’s Cup in the Spanish city, is part of a series of events and launches to highlight this key sporting collaboration. 

Strategically positioned in a vibrant area of Barcelona, the boutique occupies 48 square meters of retail space. Its design is a contemporary take on our identity, marrying sleek Italian DNA with the technical expertise of Swiss watchmaking. The boutique aims to provide an engaging experience for visitors, allowing them to delve into our world, where every detail reflects the brand's commitment to historied past and technological advancement.

The exterior is characterized by clean lines with two prominent windows that draw the eye and allow passersby to glimpse through. Inside, the boutique continues the theme of sporty elegance with a carefully curated interior that blends functionality and style, featuring maritime-inspired blue accents and decor elements that nod to the nearby sea and the ongoing America's Cup, integrating local culture with the brand's identity. Central to the space is a striking illuminated clock display, echoing the Panerai’s distinctive ownership of luminescent innovations.

Our new boutique in Barcelona will debut with a series of events in conjunction with the 37th America’s Cup, where sporting and watch aficionados can experience a slice of the racing thrill through our shared journey with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team.
