Partnerships

Collaboration to advance sustainability is not new to Panerai, a brand profoundly wedded to the sea, which has an extensive history of engaging with environmental concerns and institutions, including collaborations with activist-adventurers like Mike Horn and Jeremy Jauncey.

IOC-UNESCO

Panerai is partnering with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO) since 2021 to develop ocean literacy activities as part of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). The collaboration between IOC-UNESCO and Panerai focus on developing a program of work around ocean literacy to ensure that citizens, stakeholders, and institutions understand their interaction with the ocean and can use this knowledge to develop transformative solutions toward building a more sustainable and equitable society.

To address the issue of education, Panerai launched “Panerai Ocean Conservation Initiative” a worldwide campaign among 100 universities in the world to raise awareness of the challenges facing the ocean and enlighten students on how a luxury brand, like Panerai, can be a force for good for the planet thanks to its serious commitment towards sustainability.

“Our partnership with Panerai over the past two years has created heightened awareness about the ocean’s critical importance and the dire need for decisive interventions. Panerai generously supports UNESCO’s action on Ocean Literacy. Through collective action in education and empowerment of youth, UNESCO and its Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission hope to harness innovative ocean-based solutions for a brighter and more sustainable future”

Vladimir Ryabinin, Executive Secretary of IOC-UNESCO.

IMIBALA

Since 2020, Panerai supports Imibala Trust, a registered South African NPO that works with children of school-going age whose lives are affected by impoverished circumstances. Imibala offers programmes that make a substantial and measurable difference in the lives of children.

Panerai provided uniforms for the children, donated 3 buses and provided a state of the art computer lab, as well as 22 educational tablets for educational purposes.
