Panerai Historic Exhibition "The Depths of Time" opens in Hong Kong

Following the international success of its global tour through Florence, New York City, Miami, Shanghai, Tokyo and Taipei, Panerai is proud to announce the official opening of its historical exhibition “The Depths of Time” in Hong Kong. Unfolding across three immersive floors at 2 Canton Road, the exhibition opens on 8 October 2026 and will be available for public viewing by reservation from 11 to 25 October.

The exhibition provides an immersive journey into Panerai's distinctive heritage, tracing its evolution from an Italian Navy supplier in the early 1910s. It hhighlights the brand's pivotal moment in 1993 with the public unveiling of its military-grade innovations through its inaugural Luminor collection for civilian use, and its subsequent growth following the Richemont Group's acquisition in 1997.

In line with previous editions of "The Depths of Time," this new journey presents a curated collection of early diving instruments and iconic timepieces. This comprehensive display serves as a profound tribute to the Maison’s rich heritage, vividly chronicling the pivotal moments that forged its undisputed reputation for manufacturing professional tool watches.

Though never-before-seen archival materials, including personal correspondence between the Panerai family and the Marina Militare, technical drawings, early catalogues, and original historical photographs, the exhibition offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the genesis of the brand's distinctive features.

Visitors can also examine instruments like compasses and depth gauges, alongside historical watches and patent reproductions, and special exhibits from local collectors, understanding firsthand how Panerai’s groundbreaking work in luminosity, underwater readability, and instrument design has shaped its emblematic design.
