LUMINOR MARINA TUTTOGRIGIO
Lifestyle
To unite the history of our vintage and contemporary watches, Panerai never stops pushing innovation to its limits, constantly embracing the next frontier of materials with the ultimate ambition to offer watches with more advanced properties.
CARBOTECH
The combination of carbon fiber and PEEK, a thermoplastic, high-performance polymer never before used in the world of watchmaking, makes watches extremely lightweight. PEEK, which has hypoallergenic characteristics, enhances the technical performance of the composite with its high resistance to corrosion and external stresses and shocks. Carbon fibers are frequently used in the motorsports industry and aeronautics, while PEEK is often applied in the medical industry for purposes including cranial prostheses.
BMG-TECH
BMG, a metallic glass alloy, is arguably the strongest material ever tested by Panerai. The technology results in a scratch-resistant material endowed with high resistance to magnetic fields, external impacts and corrosion. BMG was originally used in medical tools and diagnostic devices.
TITANIUM DMLS
Creating a watch using 3D printing is the fundamental technical challenge addressed by the process known as DLMS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering). The innovative technology yields watches with hollow cases (total weight: 96 grams) that are lightweight without altering their impact-resistant or water-resistant properties. This DMLS process is commonly applied in the aeronautics, aerospace and automotive industries.
PANERAI GOLDTECH
An advancement in the sphere of precious metals, Panerai GoldTech is aesthetically and technically remarkable. Its standout color results from a higher percentage of copper. The alloy also contains platinum, reducing the effects of oxidation for greater durability over time. Finally, Panerai GoldTech exhibits an improved hardness thanks to a complex thermo-mechanical process Panerai developed.
ECO TITANIUM
Eco Titanium is meant to survive the test of time. Made from recycled titanium, this innovative material is both sustainable and lightweight, possessing characteristic properties of titanium, such as strength and corrosion resistance. It is a product of recycling titanium used in the aviation industry.
