Characteristics
The P.2005/MR caliber features a tourbillon regulator and a double-minute repeater mechanism that chimes at local time or a second-time zone, using a system that strikes every 10 minutes. The Minute Repeater features a three-hammer mechanism that plays a melody to indicate the time, rather than the traditional two-hammer design. Activated by a push-piece at 8 o'clock, the hammers strike three gongs attached to the movement and case, producing different sounds. The lowest tone indicates the hour, while the highest represents the minutes. Distinctively, the second gong sounds a triple chime every 10 minutes, replacing the usual 15-minute intervals. This tens-based system simplifies reading the time, similar to how digital watches display it. The Minute Repeater can also chime for both local time and a second time zone. The second time zone is displayed by a central arrow hand and an AM/PM indicator at 3 o'clock. Selecting between local and home time is easy and safe, as the function is activated by a push-piece only after the crown is slightly rotated, indicated by a black marker on the crown. The HT/LT (Home Time/Local Time) indicator shows which time zone is active. To prevent mishandling, the watch incorporates four security mechanisms within the movement and a specially constructed case for optimized resonance.
