To ensure the highest level of quality, in early 2014 Officine Panerai opened its new Manufacture in Neuchâtel, at the heart of the region with one of the oldest watchmaking traditions in the world, a significantly larger building with greater resources than the previous Manufacture opened in 2002.
A completely new structure, in both form and substance, featuring more than 10,000 square metres of space where about 250 people carry out their specialist work. This new setting brings together all the main operations and technical skills needed to create a watch of excellent quality and it is the place where the technical and innovative spirit of the brand is best expressed, nurtured by the centuries-old Swiss tradition in the field.
Panerai has opened up its manufacturing process to the general public, offering immersion in a world of innovation and cutting-edge technology.
Visit a watch manufacturer, get as close to the experts as possible, and follow the watch creation process. At Panerai, every innovation starts in the “Laboratorio di Idee”, more commonly known as the Research and Development Department. It then goes through a number of stages: from the prototype stage to the choice of materials, manufacturing and the decoration of components, followed by homologation tests. It is only after multiple checks and validation stages that the watch comes to life in the deft hands of the watchmakers, at the core of the assembly workshops.
A 2.5-hour immersive experience is offered in an avant-garde manufacture.
