Over a Century of Performance

Marina Militare, Since 1910

Panerai’s bond with the Marina Militare began in 1910 as a precision instrument supplier to the Italian Navy. In 1935, Panerai developed watch prototypes for its underwater units; later projects extended to systems supporting naval aviation. This shared history enters a new chapter with Aviazione Navale, whose wings emblem is engraved on PAM01698’s caseback for the very first time.

Green to Black, Flight Inspired

The green-grained matt dial fades to black in a gradient finish inspired by Aviazione Navale aircrew flight gear and helmets. Wider applied indexes provide a larger surface for grey Super-LumiNova®, echoing the tones of its aviation equipment while enhancing low-light legibility for an immediate reading.

Carbotech™, the Material of Performance

Innovation, Layer by Layer

Developed by Panerai's Laboratorio di Idee, Carbotech™ is created by compressing long carbon fibres with the high-performance polymer PEEK under intense heat and pressure. Exceptionally lightweight, highly resistant to corrosion, and with advanced mechanical properties that enhance its durability, its layered structure reveals a distinctive matte pattern, making every case naturally distinctive.

P.900 Calibre

Automatic Performance

The automatic P.900 is among the slimmest automatic calibres in Panerai’s portfolio. A bidirectional oscillating weight winds the single barrel, delivering a 3 Days power reserve, while the balance runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour. A stop-seconds function, a direct inspiration from the military heritage, enables precise time setting.

Texture, Comfort, Versatility

Two Straps, One Submersible

A green canvas strap brings texture, comfort, and an easy, everyday character to PAM01698. A second black rubber strap offers an alternative suited to time in and around water, highlighting the identity of this watch as a diving instrument.
